Roles and Responsibility
Field Maintenance Manager
- Maintain Field Maintenance Crew roster
- Log volunteer hours and participation
- Coordinate Field Maintenance schedule
- Request funds from the Board of Directors for equipment and supplies
- Order and maintain field maintenance supplies and equipment
- Assure that University East fields and facilities meet league standards
- Inspect and approve fields and facilities
- Schedule contractors for field maintenance
Field Maintenance Crew Member
- Execute field maintenance plans and procedures
- Repair pitching mounds
- Repair batters boxes
- Drag fields according to the field maintenance plan
- Line fields before games
- Rake areas around bases after games
- Sweep dugouts
- Repair field entry lanes
- Install bases at the correct distances for division games
- Install and remove temporary fence before and after games

Game Day Protocol
Pregame
- Walk field and remove debris
- Drag infield
- Line batters boxes
- Majors and below - 3 ft x 6 ft
- Juniors and above - 4 ft x 6 ft
- Softball - 3 ft x 7 ft
- Line foul lines
- Chalk infield foul line
- Paint outfield foul line
- Line coaches boxes
- 4 ft X 8 ft
- 6 ft from first and third base
- Line first base runners lane
- 3 ft from foul line
- 30 ft long from first base outer outfield corner and foul line extending towards home plate
Postgame
- Rake around bases
- Repair pitching mound
- Repair batters boxes
- Sweep dugout
- Empty trash cans
